Project Overview

Located in Poway, California, this ground-up Spanish Modern home with ADU is designed to blend timeless California architecture with modern living. The project reflects SRGd Design’s focus on custom home design in San Diego County, combining classic Spanish elements with clean, contemporary detailing.

The architecture features smooth stucco walls, clay tile roofing, arched openings, and natural stone accents, creating a warm and durable exterior suited for the Southern California climate. The home is organized around a series of courtyards, terraces, and covered outdoor spaces, maximizing indoor-outdoor living and natural light—key elements of modern coastal and inland residential design.

Positioned on a sloped site, the design responds to the terrain with terraced landscaping, retaining walls, and elevated outdoor areas that capture views and create a strong connection between the home and its surroundings. Large windows and sliding glass openings enhance ventilation, daylight, and visual openness throughout the residence.

This project also includes a custom accessory dwelling unit (ADU), seamlessly integrated into the overall design. The ADU provides flexible use for multigenerational living, or guest space, aligning with growing demand for ADU design in San Diego County.

The landscape design incorporates drought-tolerant Mediterranean planting, low-water landscaping, and natural materials, reinforcing both sustainability and the Spanish Modern aesthetic.
