Project Overview
The Felicita ADU is a detached accessory dwelling unit designed in a California Spanish architectural style, artfully merging traditional character with modern functionality. This project takes advantage of the site’s natural grade by incorporating a split-level layout, allowing the structure to be seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
To support the change in elevation and create a stable foundation, retaining walls were thoughtfully integrated into the design, minimizing the visual impact of the structure within its surroundings.
Inside, the living space features an open gable ceiling, which enhances the sense of volume and natural light within the compact footprint. This architectural element not only reinforces the traditional character of the structure but also fosters a spacious and airy interior environment.
A standout feature of this ADU is its rooftop deck, providing an elevated outdoor living space that significantly expands the usable area of the unit. The rooftop terrace offers ample opportunities for outdoor relaxation while ensuring privacy and views of the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The result is a meticulously designed ADU that strikes a perfect balance between California Spanish design elements and efficient contemporary living.
