Escondido 2nd Story ADU Design

This project involved the design of a second-story accessory dwelling unit (ADU) constructed above an existing garage, creating additional living space while maintaining the architectural character of the primary residence.

The ADU is designed with Craftsman-inspired architectural elements, including balanced proportions, simple roof forms, and traditional detailing that complements the existing home. By utilizing the space above the garage, the design introduces a fully independent living unit while minimizing the impact on the existing footprint of the property.

The interior layout is carefully organized to maximize efficiency and natural light within the compact space. Large windows and thoughtfully positioned openings help create a bright and comfortable living environment while maintaining privacy from the main residence.

The result is a well-integrated ADU that expands the property's living capacity while respecting the timeless character of Craftsman residential architecture.
